What are your recent music discoveries?
It’s quiet. Too quiet. So why don’t you bunch shake the dust off your tape decks and share the sounds that have been rockin’ your body lately.

The problem with the Finns who sing on boats is that I keep discovering new songs. Let me know if you want more. (Speak up. I can’t hear you.)
To give you one example, the same group (Kipparikvaretti) sings something called “Porky Pig’s Name Day” (Putte Possun nimipäivät). I knew you couldn’t’ resist.. here
Here they are singing “I’ve Got a Loverly Bunch of Coconuts.” (Kuinka saisin rikki kookospähkinän).
Please stop me, someone.
I’ve been ‘discovering’ a lot of bad 5 year old American hip hop in Paris…
If you toss M&M’s off a bald man’s bonce, they make a pleasing percussion sound.
I really like Michael Hedges. Freaking Genius. I discovered him just after he was killed in an early morning auto crash on his way home in Sonoma County on a mountain road in the fog after a gig. Damn. Great vocalist with amazing range and creativity; incredible musician.
Right now it’s Winifred Phillips. I found her while playing Little Big Planet 2. A lot of the music is so amazing in this game, and I had to find out who was responsible for some of the tracks. (Nightwish also offered a piece for the game, which I thought was interesting) So I stumbled upon her name. Turns out she’s a composer for a lot of video game sound tracks, and she does a lot of other stuff too, like acting and writing. Not familiar with any of that, but her composing is fucking awesome.
