I’m finally going for it! Signed up for an open mic night next week at the hotspot in my local tourist community. I am so excited, and more confident than not, but…would love to hear of others debut moments. I’m super quick, excellent improv. and overall confident, but, of course, moderately in fear. Tell your debut story please!

Heh, we just had a gig tonight. I was singing a song and I completely forgot the words (and this is a song that I’ve sung a gazillion times). Instead of fumbling around, I did an impromptu comedy routine while gathering my thoughts to remember the verse and the band patiently kept on the “G”. The audience busted up laughing. Finally, after about 5 beats, it came to me and I finished the song. It got the biggest applause of the night.
@Rarebear That’s GREAT! Yes, some of the funniest moments are impromptu no doubt.
I am excited and terrified, but feel confident that once I’m on a roll and with a little encouragement from the audience I will launch my comic missile with little sputtering. lol
Of course, I will arrive early with a designated driver so I can fortify myself with 2 or 3 Shock Tops before dropping my metaphorical drawers and getting completely naked with my audience. ;-P
@Coloma More power to you! Break a leg and let us know how it went.
So, this guy walks into a bar, and he’s all like, ow man…that really hurt. Ba boom psshhh!
Yeah I denno much about stand up comedy outside of watching it sometimes, so I don’t have any tips. But I’m wishing you luck on your gig! That sounds so cool, if it’s recorded, can we see it? :D Let us know how that turns out.
