I'm in Boulder/Denver the next few days. What to do?
My wife’s been offered a job in Denver and I’m here for a few days meeting with business folk to explore possible job opportunities for me. What else should I do to fall in love with this place? I’ll be spending time in Boulder which is nice but on Saturday I’ll have time to drive around. Should I head into the mountains? What will be most impressive to see/do?

Go up to the continental divide, go to Red Lion Inn for Buffalo Chili. Enjoy the sweet air in the mountains
Have some game in a restaarant. I second The Red Lion.
The Boulder Creek path runs through the middle of town for hiking.
You could also do some kayaking.
I second Tropical_Willie in recommending the Continental Divide. The mountains would be my first stop though. Also…watch out for wildfires! Have fun on your trip! :-)
Eat somewhere on Pearl St in Boulder. (I would give you recommendations, but I don’t really know what you like to eat).

I remember being in Boulder and eating NY Jewish deli food on Pearl St. Corned beef sandwiches and potato latkes. Not exactly typical food but does western CO. have food specialities?
I recommend driving west on Baseline (a main road in town) and only 3 miles into the mountains is Flagstaff summit. The view is unreal, and the fact that Boulder is right around the corner makes it even cooler I think. Like @Aethelflaed said, we could recommend some specific restaurants if you give us a ballpark of what kinda food you like! Hmmm, what else. It’s hard to say without knowing how old you are or your interests. Aside from the mountains which are obviously fantastic for everyone, the biking here is incredible if you feel like renting a bike (I just got back from a beautiful ride!!) otherwise you can stroll by the creek on the Creek Path, which is really pleasant this time of year. Take a dip if you feel like it. Go to Catacombs bar on 13th and Spruce tomorrow for one dollar prime rib sandwiches from 5–8…my friend cuts the meat. You can PM me if you are curious about anything else in particular!!! Boulder is awesome, and 3 years into moving here I’m just finally really in love with it. I do avoid the hill, because even though I am college age I don’t like college crowds, so I’d recommend that for you as well, assuming you aren’t a frat bro.

In Denver there are a couple cool whiskey bars each in cool areas. Check out Williams and Graham, an old speakeasy in the Highlandsl neighborhood in northern Denver. Also Chapultepec Too is a good jazz club in the area. Or go to Green Russell in downtown Denver on Larimer St. You’re basically in a great place to check out a lot of downtown restaurants and bars from there, plenty of fun stuff to walk to. I personally like the Wynkoop brew pub near Union Station. I know a lot of great restaurants too if you’re interested. You can find many of them on yelp too.
Beyond that, during the day you could check out the zoo or Denver Botanic Garden, I like both. Other fun neighborhoods to roam around include Congress Park, Capital Hill, Berkeley, or Washington Park. You can find a map of where they are online. I’d def spend a day checking out some of the places I listed if you have time.
@deni Oh, see, I’d just avoid the hill because there’s nothing really special there; it’s all chains.
@Aethelflaed Well, that too. And it’s less terrible in the summer. I go there occassionally for Half Fast’s strong island pitchers but that is literally it. And there’s all kinds of construction going on up there now too blegh.

I second the Estes Park Rocky Mountain State Park exploration. I definitely had a fabulous day trip doing that!
The LoDo area in lower downtown Denver is brew-pub heaven!
