Are you still in your teens or early twenties?
This article seems helpful.
If you think it is related to where you work it might be an allergy or sensitivity to some chemical being used. Are you wearing a welding helmet (I’m not sure what they are called)? That might be causing the problem and washing your face immediately after you take it off might help prevent the pimples. Also, clean the inside of the protective gear if you can with alcohol. There might be bacteria on it. And, don’t touch your face unless your hands are first washed immediately before.
Tretinoin or retin a. It works like a charm don’t let acne wreck your skin.
A couple of years ago, I developed adult acne. Mom said that Dad also had it at one point. I bought the Proactiv® basic products, and it cleared up within four days. I’ve only experienced one or two spots since then.
Here is a link to a website that explains the causes and cures for acne.
Retin A few nights a week and maybe some Salicylic Acid serum or a toner during the day.
I suffered from adult acne for awhile and this combo cleared it up completely.
Not enough info. Are you using sunblock on your face? or a welders helmet?
What is different at the site that you think is causing the breakouts?
I have heard good things about the Proactiv products.
I really like this woman’s views on products. http://www.cosmeticscop.com/index.aspx
I have just turned 27 (last wednesday). The construction site that I work at has a lot of dust and I am in the steel bending department so there are a lot of metal filings from the steel. I do not wear a mask because it is not part of PPE gear but I do wear a safety glasses at times. I am using a product called clearasil acne clearing gel twice a day but it does not seem to be working. I tried taking a blood purifier called Tisan but I only took one bottle. Is this enough information?
OK. Now that I know what you are using it makes it a bit easier to recommend something. Your Clearasil acne wash is OK, but it won’t be enough. It may contain salicylic acid but having it in a wash off product is pointless.
You are probably sweating a lot, so you should drink more water.
You want to start using a toner that has salicylic acid. I have a rather inexpensive one I use, but it may not be available where you are. I am in Europe. But if you look on the back of any toner bottle, you want to see salicylic acid or BHA (same thing, different name). If you skin is quite oily, you may not want to pay more for the non-alcohol forumulas. The important thing with salicylic acid is that it is in a solution with a pH on the lower side of neutral.
Persa Gel is a very strong cream that could be useful, used sparingly when needed, on bad spots, but 10% benzoil peroxide is nothing to mess with and can cause a lot of dryness and peeling.
Neutrogena has a good cream if you can get it. Oil-Free Acne Stress Control 3-In-1 Hydrating Acne Treatment.
You want to add a good toner and perhaps even a night cream or once a week mask to keep your skin clean and exfoliated. Cleaning out those blocked pores with BHA is going to make all the difference.
@cazzie Cool, so I should stop drinking stuff like juice and sodas and only drink water and I should buy a toner? For how long?
More water, less soda, absolutely. See how well the toner et.al. works for you. You may notice such a nice change on your skin, you won’t want to stop.
Pimples are completely normal. I get them and mostly everyone else. Do not pop your pimples because you will get scares and you might have a chance of the skin to get infected. To prevent them try using different facial wash, pimple cream, different pore brushes. Try many different products to see if they work.
Hope this helps!
