Hi! I am a Disney nut and have a recording from the Disney parks that I want to use on my new iPhone as a ringtone. The clip is about 8 seconds and I have followed the tutorials to get it into the form of a ”.m4r.”

But iTunes won’t load it, and I can’t get it on the phone. Is it too short? I can loop it in some software I have until it is close to 30 seconds. Thoughts?

Are you on a Mac? GarageBand has an export to iOS ringtone option.
Hmmm… No, I have been trying to do this on a PeeCee, but I do have a Mac as well. Worth a try. Thanks!
This is what I usually do when I’m making ringtones on my PC.
1) Create soundfile, usually in something like Audacity.
2) Save sound as a WAV file
3) Open iTunes and drag to regular music library.
4) Right click the file in the iTunes library and select “Convert to M4A”
5) When it’s done converting, drag that file back out to the desktop. Delete both copies that are currently in your library.
6) Change the M4A extension to M4R.
**You MUST make sure that “Hide file extensions for known file types” is disabled to do this. Open a folder and go to Organize>Folder and Search Options>View.
7) Go back to iTunes and open the ringtone library. Drag M4R file to it.
8) Sync.
