Community Service Hours for High School?
How many community service hours do you need to get into high school? Do you need community service hours or is it just for college? If you do need them for high school does it differ from area? And to get these hours put into use, you have to fill out a community service form, right? Can you make the community service forms, or do the organizations usually have them? And who do you submit the community service forms to? I know this question seems stupid but I’m only in 8th grade. Thanks.

If you’re in the US, you don’t need any community service hours to get into high school; the state mandates that you go to high school. You also don’t need community service hours to get into college, though many are more interested in applicants who have volunteer work on their application.
Community service is generally what we call it when you’ve broken a law and are paying off your debt to society via mandatory “volunteer” work; when you chose to do it, it’s called volunteer work.
@Aethelflaed When you’re doing community service, can you make your own community service forms or do organizations usually have their own?
Well, if your doing community service for the government, they’ll have forms for you. If you’re doing volunteer work to help you get into a good college, there will be special places on the application form for you to put down any volunteer work you did, and you mostly list where you volunteered, what you did, and for how long you did it.
At my daughter’s high school, they are required to perform a certain number of community service hours each year for graduation. I believe the high school has a form, and the high school also checks to make sure the person has been performing the community service.
You do not need community service to get in to high school or college. That said, it is a good thing to have on your resume or college application. If it is required by your school (once you are in said school) or if your school has any way of recording community service hours, your school should have a form for it. The places that you volunteer for may also have forms, but your school will likely request that you use theirs. The guidance office at your school will probably handle any community service forms.
M daughter just graduated Middle School; they had a community service organization that was voluntary, but if you wanted your hours counted they had a form.
The high school requires 12 hours each year during the school year, they have a standard form they use.
