How do you explain the concept of the Disney XD logo to someone?

Okay, so my mom and I were watching Phineas and Ferb on Disney XD and my mom said “what’s up with the XD symbol?” I tried my best to explain it, but she just doesnt get it. Can any of you help me out?

Actually, @SpatzieLover, I didn’t see anything explaining the “XD” part, but I didn’t read it that closely.

There’s at least one person out there who says it means “extra Disney.” Since it’s aimed at an older demographic, I suppose that makes some sense.

It stands for extreme digital. Yes, the wiki page explains that XD is Disney’s digital channel.
