The smell of rain on concrete.
Just one thing? I refuse to answer in that case :-p
Since @this_velvet_glove took my #1 answer, here are my others:
-heat (yeah, i can take it!)
-the food that the summer sun makes! (tomatoes, corn, zucchini, sugar snap peas, green beans, peaches, strawberries, melons, mangoes, pineapples…)
-the length of the days
-fireflies
-summer thunderstorms
-not having to go to class (I’ve been in school for… too long.)
-summer romances
Can you tell it’s my favorite season? :D
Fresh fruit and veggies off the vine in my garden. I have about 5 lbs of blackberries that need picking right now.
@tups Yeah… vacation! I’m leaving tomorrow :p
@this_velvet_glove Actually I just meant time off school/work, but leaving for vacation is even better!
Oh-whoa-ho those summer nights, wella, wella, wella….....;¬}
The storms we get almost every day.
I love watching me a good storm, especially the lightning storms at night.
I’m just obsessed with storms..
I prefer the term Viking, thanks. :)
The wonderful fresh fruit and all the wonderful things you can make from it. With air freight, it’s available most of the year, but freshly and locally picked . . . . . . ripe right off the tree . . . . sublime.
Iced tea with fresh mint and lemon.
It’s hot as balls here during the day, but that makes me appreciate morning and night more. Like, if you wake up early enough, it’s still relatively fresh outside and there’s dew on the grass and mist in the air. Or, late late at night, the heat finally stops radiating off the pavement and there’s this sort of coolish late-night humidity that only happens during the witching hour (between 1 AM and 3 AM) when the streets are deserted.
Most of the summer, it’s so hot and humid here that you can’t really spend time outside during the day. These marginal times of day are a rare treat.
I like cool sea breeze, watermelon and ice cream
