What's the best thing that has happened to you the past few days?

I was able to take advantage of a great bargain in airfare to bring my MIL to town for our anniversary party on Labor Day weekend.

I’ve had more time with my boyfriend than normal.
I was told on Monday that I don’t have to have any more dental work for the time being.
My boss has been away from the office.

Not to me directly, but to my SO’s mum. She had a heart attack over a week ago, and the doctors were planning on conducting bypass surgery. It was decided that she didn’t need it after further tests. She’s a strong woman mentally, but her body is showing age. I really want her to live and attend our wedding. I know how important it is to her.

Celebrated my 18th wedding anniversary 2 days ago.

I was given a starter for bread that is more than 20 years old. The elderly couple who gave me the starter gave me the privilege of watching the wife make the dough. Such a beautiful afternoon. Really, really special. They showed us family photos and words from a daughter that made me weep. My new friend contracted polio one year before the Salk vaccine was available. She can’t walk without assistance. She is in the middle stages of Alzheimer’s but she still put together the ingredients for the dough. She had to ask if she’d put the salt in a dozen times, but hey. She still did it.

A lovely young men helped me free myself from my bike when I fell and was trapped underneath it. It’s been that kind of week!

I am having a roughish time, I got a fortune cookie that said ’ remember this date 3 months hence. Good things will come” lol

The weather here has been really pleasant. Not too hot and not too humid. So much better than the four days to 100+ last week.

My cat survived a rattlesnake bite and is now officially recovered with no complications. A friend had me over for a great dinner Tues. night and my daughter popped in last night unexpectedly and we had a great hang out for a couple of hours.
Today is uneventful but the next best thing will be this horrible heat wave starting to break tomorrow and back to the low to mid 90’s and then the 80’s within a week. Whew….!

It’s my daughter’s birthday tomorrow (July 13) & well…..any excuse to smother her with love/gifts.

The cobblers children have no shoes and the proctologist is constipated and the fireman has no smoke detectors in his house. lol

I bought a new car, a Honda Fit. It met all my requirements and was a 4th of July special besides. Whoo hoo! And it has a stick shift too!

So much lovely stuff has happened of late. I’ve enjoyed the good company of my friends and family. I went on the loveliest date the other day :-)

I woke up. It was pretty sweet.

I spent 11 days in Lake Placid. I ate way too much but I walked most of it off. The last night, the chef at the restuarant where we stayed came out with an amazing cheese platter just for me and my lady. It was so good.

Got a new TV!! I love it, it’s a forty two inch LG one. I can now read text on my screen when playing my PlayStation 3. I couldn’t with my old cathodic TV, so this is a whole new experience…I can’t believe all the detail I’m noticing that I never saw before. It’s like having God in your living room.

I am finally understanding how to work on Adobe Illustrator!!! YAY!!!!!

I went fishing with my daughter. We had a great time.
