I love Chateau Morrisette Sweet Mountain Laurel. It is a off the vine in my home state of Virginia in the USA and tastes like a sweet Concorde grape. It is a sweet desert wine. I also like Alice White riesling wine from southeast Australia. I prefer my Champagne to be brut.
The only way I have a taste for red wine is sweet red or mixed in a sangria.
Back when I drank em….I really liked Oysterbay Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand.
For white, I love pinot grigio.
For red, I love cabernet suavignon.
Okay, so this wasn’t a vintage question, but who cares, good choices people…..cheers.
My chokecherry wine, home made.
I love a sangiovese, a sangria, or a plum wine.
I am more of a french merlot kind of girl, I like mine nice and dry
Uh puhleezze… any 16 year old from the Island will tell you Manischewitz Extra Heavy Malaga is the nectar of the gods.
I tend to drink lighter reds, merlot and pinot noirs. I often find myself buying New Zealand wines (as well as Australian wines). Probably because of the colder climate in NZ which I believe is better for the grapes these wines are produced from. The Kiwis produce some lovely wines.
I like Vasse Felix Dry White (Australian wine) more than most other whites.
I quite like French Champagne too.
OK, I’m going to go ahead and admit that I also like Arbor Mist Blackberry Merlot.
<hangs head in shame>
All I can be certain of is that I like red wine better. I wouldn’t know where to begin to pretend I know something about wine.
It depends on my mood but I think I love Shiraz and I think Australian Shiraz is the best!
I also like Chardonnay. I used to go for the oaky, buttery tasting ones but now I generally like them a little more fruity but dry. French and Californian.
Likewise, in the summer I like a crisp, dry yet fruity Sauvignon Blanc. Occassionally I’m in the mood for a Reisling but it has to be dry, I don’t like them sweet, ditto for Champagne.
For a big deal meal in the winter with roasted meats and serious food (!!!) I love a really good Cabernet Sauvignon but I don’t generally drink it otherwise.
Venezuela and Chile are making some great, very well-priced wines now. Anyone for a $5 a bottle Cabernet? I found one a Whole Foods. now you know I’m not a wine snob, lol
I like a nice merlot, preferably Italian or Chilean.
I also like a crisp, dry white, preferably French. Whether or not I drink Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc depends on my mood.
I like wine a lot!
Night Train, MD 20/20, Cisco and Thunderbird. :)
So many to choose from, if white then I like something dry like a Pinot Grigio. I much prefer the reds, a good Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon as an everyday wine but with a good meal maybe a Rioja or Shiraz. You’ve made me want a glass of wine now, this is a fairly cheap bottle but tastes quite nice, fairly easy drinking.
I’ve got this bottle of Châteauneuf-du-Pape worth around £70, not sure when I’ll drink it.
I love Spanish reds best. Rioja, Temperanillo, Valpolicella. I also like Merlots. Not so keen on Shiraz or Cabernet. Greece makes some lovely wines too, my favourite of those is Makedonikos, but it’s not easy to find.
Whites, I prefer a dry chardonnay or Aphrodite (also Greek).
Two buck chuck, why can’t they sell it here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@deni I thought of that wine, too. It’s now Three Buck Chuck, according to my brother who has a Trader Joe’s in his neighborhood.
@Pied_Pfeffer Damn it all. Is he in California? Last time I went to a Trader Joes in Oakland it was 2 dollars. Around Christmas. Definitely wouldn’t be surprised if it went up though. Still a bargain. I like the White Zinfandel. lol
@deni The brother is in the Washington DC area. And yes, it’s still a great bargain for its quality.
During the summer, I like to drink white wine, preferably a blush. Beringer’s White Zinfandel is one of my favorites. It has hints of strawberry in it and is very refreshing on a hot day.
