Can you help with a question regarding the movie Shame?

Asked by mazingerz88 (29220points) July 24th, 2012

It starred Michael Fassbender. There was a night scene where he tried to go inside what looks like a sleazy bar in NYC and the guy at the door refused entry saying, “Not tonight, no.”

Fassbender’s character, I think, said, “Not tonight?”

What do you think that means? The thing that was not suppose to happen or Fassbender couldn’t do that night? Thanks.

I just assumed he started trouble there previously somehow.

@Blackberry Ok yes, that makes perfect sense. The movie sometimes jumped between past and present and maybe I didn’t pay enough attention. He seemed to have the facial wounds when he had the exchange with the door guy, if I remember it right. Although the actual beating him up scene happened around a corner outside didn’t it?
