Do you go to Starbucks?

If somebody wanted to kidnap me, they would only have to be outside my local Starbucks on ANY morning of the week between 0700 and 0730. And if I am out of town, the first thing I ask at the hotel is where the nearest Starbucks is.
It isn’t just the coffee. It’s the affirming ritual. I made it one more day plus I have the priviledge of starting another. It is a sort of secular sacrament.
In my local Starbucks, they know me, they do not even ask what I want. When I walk in the door, they pull the lever on the spout and have the coffee ready when I get to the counter (Vente Pike Place, with a shot).
Do you know what I am sayin? Do you go to Starbucks?

That’s like asking me if i breathe! I have the same thing with my local Starbucks – they know my drink, know me by name and all that. I’m not as crazy as you are though when I travel. I don’t need to have it all the time, but it’s my “treat”. So if I am out of town, I may notice where one is and make a metal note, but not ask anyone. Though I have the Starbucks app so i am never a click away from finding a store near me, wherever I am.
Hell naw. I don’t like coffee.
Yup. Chicks and caffeine, man…chicks and caffeine. Lol.
Yuppers, I love my starbucks, their coffee is great @josie have you tried their Komodo Dragon Blend its so good! I like how they fix it with a smile if they make a mistake as well.
Oh yes I do know what you are saying and it sounds terrific to me. Regular and consistent schedules, routines or rituals are out of the question for me (I won’t go into it here but believe me it is ugly).
I envy you.
I do go to Starbucks, but I limit my going due to budgetary considerations. I often get a decaf or halfcaf Americano.
Many times I get Tazo Awake tea, which I really like.
This talk about Starbucks tea certainly convinced me to try it for the first time next time. The one I go to has a faux fireplace too, btw @josie. Top that?
Can’t say I’m a fan of their coffee but I drink their matcha (or whatever passes for it) like a drug—and locally the dealers know me on sight. I go mainly as a convenient place for the occasional meeting or quick stop when traveling and every now and then when I’m passing by on a long walk or just need a hit of something. I guess I’d say it’s an inconsistent habit built out of consistent expectation.
Yes.
Like you @josie Starbucks is a ritual (especially when out at a hotel). Starbucks is the new local watering hole and is more socially acceptable than hanging out in taverns here in the USA.
We brew their espresso beans in our burr & brew machine every morning. We both get a variety of drinks over the course of the month, and since we both have gold cards, we frequently get freebies.
I’m not the type of person who go to places like that.
No, but I get the same kind of service at my favorite bar…
I don’t like drinking coffee in public. It’s ten times cheaper at home, hipsters won’t stare at me at home, and I can take a shit afterwards at home. Also, just being in the presence of all those made up fancy drinks makes my blood sugar go high, I swear!
You know, I am trying to cut down due to diet and money, but this thread is not helping. I want a latte hardcore now!
Yes, but we have better chains than Starbucks in the UK – Costa Coffee or Caffe Nero’s, plus we have some nice independent ones as well. I love sitting in coffee shops almost as much as I love pubs.
