How can I reconnect my Canon G11 to iPhoto?

Last week I downloaded OS X Mountain Lion and now I can’t transfer photos from my Canon G11 to iPhoto. Does anyone have an answer to this dilemma?

How are you connecting the media source to your Mac? What Mac model do you own? When you connect your camera, does it turn on automatically or must you turn it on manually? Is the Mac recognizing the source? When you open iPhoto, is the camera available? Do you click “import to library” and your camera is unavailable? Have you tried connecting your SD card directly to your Mac?
