Do you like to listen to music that makes you emotional?
The deeper I get into music, the more I realize that the music I tend towards are those songs that really move me. Two songs in paticular are “I Grieve” by Peter Gabriel, and “Transistor Radio” by Cloud Cult. The first because it’s a very sad song, and it makes me think of the loss i’ve had in my life, but it feels so good to express it. The second because it’s so pure and happy, I can’t help but feel good when I listen to it. Can you relate?

I have some songs that i listened to when something sad happened and some when something happy happened and then when ever i hear them they take me straight back to that moment/emotion.
That is so what is so great about music. Songs can make you feel happy, songs can make you feel sad, songs can remind you of special times in your life, or remind you of someone. That is the wonderful power of music.
Music to me is live a living breathing soul. It moves through you, and just gives you this feeling. Not sure what I would do without it, music is just a way of life for me. I love the feeling it gives me, weather it be passionate, exciting, happy, sad, whatever. Music is a great tool for self meditation, and comfort. It also connects you to past memories, to the point you can feel, taste, smell, what ever it was you were doing that day/night. Its a beautiful thing. It just gives you serenity.
The band known as Rooney sure gets me emotionally HAPPY.
I like music with a good beat, so the specific emotion of euphoria… Nothing emo for me
I remember the first time (many, many years ago) I heard Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber. With no lyrics it was probably the first piece of music that made me feel something inside. Now it seems to be used with such frequency I doubt people have ever heard the entire piece to be able to experience what I did.
Yes, I can and do relate.
I like to listen to music that matches my mood – not creating the mood.
oh of course, I especially enjoy listening to breakdance, poplock type music that makes want to boogie like on the 80’s movie “beat street” , though depending on each persons taste in music, music just has that touch of emotion one way or another.
@wildflower I agree, and I won’t put on music that makes me more emotional than I might be at that moment.
