Rule number 8 is the best.

Ah, lovely. I honestly love it when writers help other aspiring writers. We need all the help we can get.
I like it a lot. Some of the principles are valid but I think the article is intended to be for humour rather than education.

Some of the points I already knew. “Write what you know.” Most of the time, I follow this rule. Searching my brain trying to find a subject to write about can be a pain so sometimes I just write what I know, a humorous thing that happened to me during my childhood or serious thing in my adulthood.
