Know of any place I can get free ring tones?

Asked by Dutchess_III (47126points) July 30th, 2012

Free Ringtones. Sweet Home Alabama. Well, hell. I’ll pay for it, but I need a site that charges per ringtone, not some $9.99 “plan.”

You would need a newer smartphone for this method: connect the phone to your computer, drag song file to phone’s ringtone folder.

Or something similar to this. You’re essentially transferring a slong to your phone.

There has to be a way, I’m just not sure what it would be. Paying for ringtones seems ridiculous, lol. Song files are free anywhere, but getting them on your phone shouldn’t cost money. It should only need some tech savvy.

Nevermind. I got it. $2.99. I was tired of looking. But I’ll think of your idea…see if he has USB cable for the phone

If you have iTunes on your computer, you can create your own ringtone from a song in your music library. All you have to do is turn it into an mp4 file and sync it to your phone.

What kind of phone do you have and what service do you use? When I had Verizon, it wouldn’t allow me to put any kind of files on my Motorola Razr…

Find yourself someone in their twenties who is tech savvy.

I’m not being facetious. Several years ago (before I even had iPhone ) I was enamored of the phones ringtone in the CTU offices on the series “24” and desperately wanted it for a ringtone.

One of my housemates at the time did it for me and emailed it to me and then transferred it to my old Samsung C-17 (not exactly a state of the art smartphone)

Evidently no cables or anything necessary. Just plain old tech smarts.

And the irony of it was that whenever I had it enabled on my phone, I would miss calls all the time because it was so subtle. Definitely not loud enough for a ringtone even at max level.

But seriously, teenagers nowadays can do just about anything that needs doing on a phone. Borrow one from your friends if you don’t have one of your own at home :)

Hell, I did what da old folks do. I paid $2.99 for it with my Paypal account! It’s just the one ring tone.
