Have you heard any ignorant slams lately?

This is the only oxymoron I know of . . . except maybe this one.

I read the sentence: “He then got nearly as angry and frustrated as a Tea Party member reading a history book…” the other day. It made me smile.

I said “serious as a….. doorknob” today. I couldn’t think of what it was for a moment, and then I realized I meant a heart attack. Serious as a heart attack. But the person I was talking to liked “serious as a doorknob.”

@wundayatta Every doorknob I’ve ever gotten to know well turned out to be one serious piece of hardware.

My personal favorite dumb insult is “Your stupid.” I get that a lot from right-wingers on Sodahead.

But I live nextdoor to the battleground state of New Hampshire. So our airways are full of political attack adds from the Koch Brothers and such. They just started running one with a newscaster intoning in dark tones, “This is now the worst recovery in US history…” and I had to wonder if he’d ever heard of the Great Depression. I mean I can forgive the twit not knowing the US has actually had 13 depressions in its storied history. But you would think the political party that presided over the Great Depression and that also thoughtfully gave us the Great Recession would at least be able to reach back to those events. Apparently not.

This was a while back, but it’s too good not to share.

My sister @mangeons once said to my other sister while making fun of her, “Hi, I’m @laineybug, and I’m stupid!” Not appreciating this insult, @laineybug immediately tried to come up with a comeback- “Hi, I’m @mangeons, and I’m-” ….....(very long pause)........ “not smart!” We all cracked up that after taking all that time to come up with a retort, that was all that she could produce.

@Fly Just to ice the cake, tell them @laineybug and @mangeons are both right.

Some idiot on here told me to “Shut up load!” just the other day, I was so amused I almost ate some ice cream.
