I have a general interest in how well my country is doing, but really I want the person who is best win. I don’t care what country they are from. Does it matter to you whether it is an individual sport or team sport? I guess when it is a team sport I look more for my country to win. I love the idea of the Olympics. One world.

I route country. I’m not interested in Usain Bolt for instance, to show boat around after a victory. However, with that being said, I don’t hate the guy. I’d just prefer an American to win any competition. But of course respect towards the winner regardless.
Mostly I root for my country but if my country isn’t represented in a particular event I just want the best person to win. I’m stunned and delighted by how well Britain is doing this year. Maybe everyone’s fired up because they’re on home turf.
I just watch NBC. That way i can ignore the other countries.
I’m with you. I’m from the US, but have have been very impressed with the Chinese divers for example.
I route for the guy I think is most atttractive… or if I think he is gay I route for him. I have no interest in womens sports.
I almost forgot about the olympics this year :D I’d rather sweat than watch other people sweat…
@mowens that’s why my favourite events are men’s swimming and men’s gymnastics…
The individual. Why would I root for people coming together to represent where they were born? There’s no American athletes or Chinese athletes.
I root for Great Britain first and foremost but I still have a lot of support for the individuals. I certainly look forward to watching certain Athletes compete regardless of where they are from, Usain Bolt for example.
I have a couple of friends competing this year so it has been about the individual achievement more so than ever.
Team GB is doing absolutely brilliantly.
I supported all female Muslims who participated.
