oh- did you mean one with an engine? a 1990 Isuzu pickup truck
A brown 1979 Toyota Celica hatchback. I hated it at first (thought it was ugly) but soon grew to love that car!
I get bonus points for learning a stick shift on the hills of S.F. Talk about nerve-wracking! :P
A little red Vespa – it was pretty cool and great in heavy traffic!
2000 toyota celica , silver
An 89 Kawasaki 305cc street bike
1963 Chevrolet Corvair (with mandatory oil leak)
1988 Ford Tracer it was a split between me & my sis
1990 Toyota Camry. Still own it. Just passed 217,000 miles. It’s got decent gas mileage and I’ve thought about getting a new car but this one still has sentimental value for me.
It was passed down from my grandfather, to my dad, to me.
I can’t remember the year but it was a two door orange chevy citation
1946 Dodge Coupe…first one manufactured after the war. It had been in a bad collision and my grandfather, in the auto salvage business, banged out all the dents. I got it when I was a jr. in HS (1956) and had a license. A true clunker, but I loved it. I threw a large piece of yellow canvas over the dusty seats.
1976 Ford Maverick, crap brown.
62 Studebaker lark. I got it when I was 16 as payment for building a porch for an old family friend. Black, 6 volt, 3speed on the tree. I sold it two years later to a collector who restored it. Now it is in a museum back east. It only had 23,000 miles on it. It was in 84 when I got it.
His: Honda Civic
Hers: Plymouth Horrizon I don’t even know if I spelled that right lol
A old Camaro that only steer about 2 degrees to the left, so I had to go around the block to make a left…
My grandfather’s light blue something. I hung it up on a rock while practicing driving
across a field, and my parents took it away from me.
1983 Audi 5000 we got for $1700 + plus tons of repairs over time which cost an arm and a leg. it was pretty sweet for a first car, though…Leather, power windows and sunroof, power mirrors, power antenna—oh yeah it was loaded!
we bought it from a guy in a grocery store parking lot. we drove it home and found out that the rear passenger side door didn’t open and the trunk had a combination of key turns in order to open it…don’t ask. i guess we could have gotten our money back, but for some reason we kept it. it eventually died on me while i was driving on the interstate…had it for about 3 or 4 years, i guess.
1972 Chevrolet Impala that “rained” inside when it rained outside. A passenger in the front had to open an umbrella on her lap to avoid getting soaked. Nice.
@Seesul- Nope. Metallic Gold.
Wow, most of them seemed to be that ucky green color, you got lucky! I don’t even remember the gold, but it was a popular color (in other cars that year).
1970 Merc Cougar XR7 with sychronized turn signals and hydraulic light covers. What was the first car I ever had that had a fire in the trunk? A 1970 Merc Cougar XRZ. What was the first car I ever puked in from drinking too much? A 1970 Merc Cougar XR7. There are other milestones in that car, too.
My mom gave me her ‘81 Chevette 4-speed manual when she bought a new car.
The first I owned was an ‘87 VW Golf 5-speed manual that I bought brand new when I was 20.
99’ Saturn. I named him “Satty the Saturn!”.
For those interested, my 1946 Dodge was wartime gray and I got it in 1952.
oh man I wish I could have a 46 dodge now lol
@them: My mother drove me to pick up car. I had to drive it home on a major road filled w. traffic, having spent one driver ed class learning how to shift. My mother said that the Dodge crept along, leaping up and down like a Mexican jumping bean, since I had not yet mastered the clutch/gas thing (I was 16).
lol but I bet it was a great car!
my highschool dream car a 95 acura integra GSR.
@them: all that mattered was that it was a car and meant liberty for me and my friends. I finally mastered the manual system before I stripped all the gears and was free at last.

My very first car was a 1971 Chevy Corvette given to me for my 15th birthday!
The very first car i purchase myself, was a 1978 Lancia Beta Scorpion, (for those that do not know what that is) A man by the name Pininfarina (he designed the Ferarri) as well as this car.
Silver ‘89 Toyota Cressida, when I was 16, that we called Grandma because it was a big four door car! What I did not realize then is that it was a luxury car.
One of these: 1979 Chevy Camaro. Back in the day everyone had one….now it is rarity to see one driving around.
