I came across a site today called ISideWith.com. You answer a few simple questions about different areas of politics and weigh the importance of each issue, and the site will tell you how your opinions line up with different candidates. Unlike most of such quizzes, there are lots of options for answers so it is not so generalized, and if you don’t see an answer that fits you, you can type your own. They also show you the specifics of how you lined up with each candidate when you get your results. I actually learned a lot about some third party candidates just based on this quiz. I found my results to be quite accurate; it’s no secret that I’m an Obama advocate and that I’m not a fan of Romney, to put it nicely. But some others that I know who have taken it have been very surprised their results.
So, what were your results? Are you surprised at all by your results or how you lined up with any one candidate? Who did you think the quiz would show that you side with? Have your results changed your mind at all about who you will be voting for in November?

Apparently, I side with Ron Paul 75%.
She is a physician and a candidate with the Green Party, @johnpowell.
Cheri Honkala is Stein’s VP pick. I was hoping it was would be Roeann Barr.
It’s pretty much what I thought but I am closer to Jill Stein than Obama. I hadn’t even heard of Jill Stein before.
I took that quiz a few weeks ago. I think it is much more interesting if you “choose another stance” on every option.
I don’t remember the specifics, but I remember that Gary Johnson was first and Jill Stein was second with Ron Paul as a close third. I’d heard of Jill Stein, but not Gary Johnson. I’m not particularly a fan of the Republican or Democrat parties, so I guess the results shouldn’t have surprised me.
I currently plan to vote for Gary Johnson in the general election. I vote for who I agree with the most, regardless of their odds of winning.
Ron Paul and Gary Johnson on most stuff. Obama on environmental stuff. The green chick on science.
I’ll wait til Jesus runs for office.
@starsofeight He already dropped ou… oh, wait, that was Santorum.
No surprise, I side with Obama 85%, followed closely by Stein at 83%. That is one of the better quizzes of this type I’ve seen.
I always took you guys for Greens…I suspect many of you are Watermelons.
Ha, I just noticed that my results say I side with Romney on “no major issues”. Good to know.
Here are my results. Obama at the top. Said I lined up most with the Dems, next the Green party.
Jill Stein, 93%, Obama, 92%, Mitt Romney, no major issues (2%), Virgil Goode, 0%. So, go Romney, for being only second last.
Huh, I got Jill Stein as my top pick. I had not heard of her. Obama was my second choice, and because I’m more interested in voting for someone who has a shot of winning, he will have my vote over Stein. I did some reading and she is pretty intriguing, though.
I didn’t do the quiz, @augustlan. It is interesting though. I’m impressed how many of the results posted so far side with Jimmy “The Rent is Too Damn High, McMillian, by such high percentages on healthcare/other issues. I’m going to have to look at his platform.
@Mariah Jill Stein was a close second to Obama for me. I wouldn’t vote for her at this time either, though, since she doesn’t have much of a chance of winning. Like many other people, I had never even heard of her, but I did some research and she seems like a viable candidate, if she only had a chance.
Like many others, I got Jill Stein (91%) followed by Obama (86%). I also hadn’t heard of her until now.
It’s hard to see why a third party candidate never seems to get many votes…
Jill Stein is obviously financing the quiz.~
I am not an American but Jill Stein (88%) and then Obama (78%).
I don’t actually know who Jill Stein is but apparently I like her!
88% Green
78% Democratic
39% Libertarian
2% Republican
My results:
Jill Stein 83%
President Obama 82%
Stewart Alexander 75%
Ron Paul 31%

Mitt Romney 5%
No major surprise there, except that Mitt Romney got a higher percentage that I was expecting.
Ron Paul 73%, and Jill Stein 67%. Mitt was near the bottom for me. Obama and Johnson was a close third and fourth place.
Interesting quiz. The biggest surprise here for me is that I apparently have a more libertarian streak than I thought I did.
By party, Greens 77%, Democrats 61%, Libertarians 53%.
Wouldn’t it be great if anyone and everyone who voted had to take this or a similar “survey” versus filling in a ballot? As a result of the test, your vote is submitted to the individual who best supports your test results. This would eliminate many people who vote on party lines. So much mis-information out there will sway the uneducated voter.
@RandomMrAdam I’ve been wishing that for years. Blind voting, where you don’t even see the name or the party of the person you’re voting for. You’d be voting for the actual policies they represent, instead.
For those of you who got Jill Stein as your top pick, she’s doing an Ask Me Anything on Reddit today if you’re interested in checking that out.
