Talk about fluffy questions, this is one. When I shower, I hear the phone or the door bell ring. I’ve stopped popping out of the shower to answer and I tell myself there really isn’t anyone there, but I still hear it.

I always hear the phone ring when I’m in the shower. Has it really rung? Nope.
This is very funny. I also hear my phone ringing while I’m in the shower. My house doesn’t have a doorbell, so I don’t have to worry about that one. The phone ringing is about it.
@Hawaii_Jake , I do have a doorbell but I never hear that during my shower. Thank heavens, as I’d try to get to the door to see who is there since the door doesn’t have an answering machine. Does that make sense?
It’s quite startling to hear the neighbor who lives behind me start up his weed wacker. It takes me a few seconds to realize what the heck it is! Bzzzzzzrpppp! I think it’s a giant bee or somesuch.
I did, for years. Always thought the phone was ringing, and had to train myself not to jump out to answer the (nonexistent) call. Either I no longer hear it, or I’ve just stopped noticing when I do.
Yes the sound of water running from the shower.
I set my phone to vibrate rather than ring, and I always feel like my phone is vibrating on the floor of my room or my desk, when, after showering and having checked, it is not the case.
Weird. I think the thought that it could vibrate while showering, that little possibility causes to be on alert for the sound and the cascading sound of water could produce derivative sounds that sound like a vibrating phone. It’s a mistake of a brain.
I hear crowds giving me standing ovations for my renditions of “Whole Lotta Love” and “Instant Karma.”
Hear things that aren’t happening? No, not that I know of. Not my phone ringing for sure. I never knew a lot of people have that happen. Once in a blue moon I hear somethingbthat sounds like someone could be coming into the house, I figure it is something knocking around outside.
The ability of the brain to find familiar patterns within a cacophony of visual and/or audio stimuli explains what borders on hallucinatory experiences. I would hear the sound of our telephone ringing while taking a shower, until we changed to phones without a mechanical ringer. Sometimes, when our toilet is flushed, I hear almost intelligible voices that sound as though coming from a radio. Many Apple II users will remember the “bell” sound that surprisingly stood out from a variety of sound sources.
Sharp violin sounds, as if imitating a stabbing motion.
I then ask the wife to turn the volume down on the telly, she does like her horror movies.
I hear babies cry…... I watch them grow
They’ll learn much more…..than I’ll never know
And I think to myself…..what a wonderful world

Funny thing, after writing this question, and getting responses, I heard nothing when I showered. Have I discovered a new cure?
I always hear people talking. And it’s literally only when I’m in the shower that I hear this. It can be at home, at a friend's, at a hotel, wherever. If I’m in the shower, I hear people talking.
