What's a good budget Bed and Breakfast place in New York?
I’m looking to go on a weekend trip to a good Bed and Breakfast place in New York (anywhere in the state) but I need to do it on a budget. I’m looking for less $100 or less a night for a two person room. I’m not super picky on where, exactly, but I’d like it to be in a place where we can explore some nature (hiking, etc…). Less important, but good if we can find it, is that there are some wineries around so we can do a wine tour. Unfortunately, the Bed and Breakfast sites I’ve found don’t do price filters so they are sort of a pain to use.

I checked the B and B’s and cottages in my area, next to the Berkshires. The cheapest was $700/three day stay for one person.
You might pick an area you like and then put the question on Craig’s List. Perhaps you will find a family with an empty guest room and make informal arrangements. $100 is very inexpensive, taking in the housekeeping and laundry and a little food.
I was going to suggest the Finger Lakes, but @Adirondackwannabe beat me to it :)
I went to school in Syracuse and once went apple-picking with friends in a huge farm. They have a restaurant on property as well as a winery where they sell apple wines (they have free tastings as well). I’ll see if I can find the name of the farm from the friends with whom I went and I will let you know.
For B&Bs, check out this site.
@jordym84 Yeah, the Finger Lakes are beautiful. Ithaca is great, I spent 4 years there. Plus there’s a huge wine trail, and the Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge. Got to check that spelling.
@Adirondackwannabe Yes, upstate NY is beautiful, especially during the fall! Highly recommended!
Thanks all. These are some great suggestions. I might do the finger lakes area since I can get a bus up to the area.
