What do you think is the most beautiful word in the English language?

I wonder if people who speak other languages think the English language sounds as beautiful as we think there language sounds like French and Italian etc.

I just really love the letter “a”. Lowercase and set in Helvetica is even better.

@Hollister – actually, just yesterday I said someone I don’t really consider the English beautiful. Then again, I also wouldn’t consider it ugly like I do German.

@iwamoto – gastronomie is a nice one :)

I think I’d go for “ren” (as in running) off the top of my head, pronounced with that lovely rolling r. Think Ren Lenny Ren :)

On the Howard Stern show, once, they revealed to their listening audience the results of a survery. The survey’s participants were all people who didn’t understand a word of English, and they were asked to judge a variety of words based on sound alone. The result for the most beautiful word was, diarrhea.

just about anything pronounced with a British accent… or a French accent… or a Spanish accent. I dig the exotics.

and technical terminology is best in a Scottish accent.
