Is there a web resource where I can get information on the purpose of specific websites?

Asked by SuperMouse (30853points) August 23rd, 2012

I have some exact website names and addresses and I don’t want to visit the sites themselves. What I would like to do is to find information about what type of site it is and what type of material is on the site. Is there a web resource to obtain this information?

Just try googling the site name in brackets and add the word review, or some such at the end.

I have been thinking of this question myself, because it would save so much time!

I know when it comes to video sites like You tube for example there is one. But I found it didn’t give me the most important info. I’m searching for the OP in Fluther that has a big list of video sites and their specialties.

Yep the easiest way to do this is use the site names in a Google search and look through the results

Just pm them to me, I can tell you what they are for, or take screenshots and even archive the page and send it to you of you like

This computer security website allows you to search if certain pages have malware by typing the URL in its search box.
