How did the Shar pei breed get their look? How did the breed come about?

You’re silly, they’re made in a factory, of course, not bred, here read this ;-)

(seriously though no idea, same as other breeds probably, by always selecting a certain set of attributes)

Whenever I need to look up something about Shar Pei’s, I always find myself gravitating back to the same site.

It’s got a ton of info, just be patient wading through it all.

A factory in Indochine had produced an excess of tan fabric and another factory in Indonesia had produced an excess of smaller sized dogs and someone thought they could make a product out of the two mistakes.
