Can you help me watch Jesus Camp?
I am finding that I can only take about 60 seconds at one sitting, and then I need to go do something else for a while. Any tricks to speed the process up? You know, like a laxative for my mind?

Lean closer to your screen, and I’ll give you a frontal lobotomy. That should make the movie palatable.
When I watched it I experienced the exact same problem. Your mind just can’t handle the awful spectacle it’s witnessing, so it needs frequent breaks to keep from exploding. If you keep telling yourself that the mindless robots people are completely fucked, just utterly hopeless, and there’s nothing you can do to help them, it sort of becomes an unintentional black comedy rather than a documentary – and therefore, somehow, viewable.
I’ve actually never watched it. I lived it as a child every summer growing up in a rabidly fundamentalist Christian household.
Therapy, anyone?
Some stuff is just too perverted.
If you ever need help mastering the fine art of jerking off to 2 girls 1 cup while eating a Nutella sandwich, give me a shout, but I just can’t help you with this sick shit.
Watching that fat, ugly, loveless, retarded waste of sperm, talk shit to kids about Harry Potter and demons for hours on end until they cry, just makes me wish she would get raped to death by a giant self-aware cancerous tumor.
@poisonedantidote Another time, don’t sugar coat it so much. You’re repressing, and that’s never a good thing. You’re among friends, it’s ok to tell us how you really feel. ;-)
Just grin and bear it. You need to know what you’ll be dealing with in 20 years.
I knew Jesus was gay, I just knew it!
I made it up to the 8 minute 20 second mark while watching alone at night. I found it quite fascinating and intend watching more of it some other time. I hadn’t heard of this film before. Apparently it lost out to All Gore’s ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ at the 79th Academy Awards.
I am particularly looking forward to the scene showing Pastor Ted Haggard preaching a sermon against homosexuality.
I tried. I couldn’t do it. I don’t like being angry at my television. That’s why I stopped watching anything related to politics, unless it’s stand-up comedy.
I much prefer “Religulous” or, for fun, any pro-Intelligent Design video. Now that’s comedy.
There’s a great documentary on the Ev vs. ID debate called “Flock of Dodos”.
According to the documentary, the only reason ID is even being discussed is because scientists are inherently incapable of speaking in buzzwords, and the IDers are nothing but buzzwords. And the people like buzzwords.
