I have a restricted Facebook profile. Is there a way I can e-mail a link to my facebook profile without having to adjust my security settings?

Asked by tranquilsea (17775points) September 3rd, 2012

I’ve met a couple of people recently that I want to add to Facebook BUT we both have restricted profiles that don’t allow non friends to see us in the directory. How do I e-mail a link to my Facebook profile? Is it as easy as typing in “facebook.com/your.name”?

If you go to Facebook, and click on your name in the upper right hand corner, next to Find Friends and Home, it’ll send you to the link you need to send your friends.

Is that the link found under “General Account Settings”? The link that generically goes “http://facebook.com/user.name”? If I were to replace user.name with my own name then I can send that in an e-mail and they’ll be routed to my profile?

Go to your About on your Your Profile, it has the link there to your fb page. No settings need adjusted.

The only link I see that may be possible in the “about” screen is the e-mail account Facebook set up for me that I’ve never used. Is that what you’re talking about @KNOWITALL?

Nope, but I did tell you wrong. Go to your Home, then on the upper right, Account Settings the your user name is the link. Sorry about that!

So then it is as I stated above: http://facebook.com/user.name?
