He’s been dead a long time, it may not be protected anymore. Project Gutenberg has a lot of his books available for free download. And here is a link to the Freud Archives

Can a restaurant just call itself Freud’s – even using his image?
Sure, why not? Even put it on a sweatshirt. I don’t think anyone owns his name or image.
You do need to check if someone has registered it as a service mark, you may not copy someone’s use of the image as a restaurant if people would get confused.
It would be an interesting name for a cigar store. Sometimes a cigar is just a good smoke.
Well, I know who owns the Einstein name and logo… no-one can use it.
