The Chihuahua that we rescued has one up ear and one folded ear. My Queensland Heeler has two up ears.

This happens with German Shepherds and I imagine the reasons are the same. Many breeds of dogs that ultimately begin with standing up ears, often start as floppy ears and then start to stand up as the dog ages. Dogs’ ears contain cartilage and if the cartilage is damaged in any way while it is “learning” to stand up, the result is an ear that either folds or flops.
I hate to say it, but it’s just so applicable in this case.
Your pet is dog-eared.
@CWOTUS OMG, I never even thought of that.
Because it looks super-cute : )
Because he only wants to listen half the time. :)
Or it could be as everyone else said, especially @Kardamom . It is always a very cute look.
Because he’s applying for a job with RCA Victor.
