Can you help with some gift ideas for a 2 year old boy?

Nephews bday is coming up on Monday. He likes skateboarding things. But he’s 2. What sorts of things could we get him? Any recommendation is a good one :D

My grandsons love their Dreamlites. We found them at Walmart.

I recently found a Build a Bear workshop. It offers a bunch of different ways to make a bear or other stuff animal a personal touch from you to the child. I believe it can even record your voice in one of the things you add on. So you can buy a book and read the story to your nephew and have the bear read it to your nephew. There are many things you can add on to make it specific for you nephew.
It is also very inexpensive.Of course the more you add the more it cost.

You can’t go wrong with Hot Wheels cars and a race track rug.
Walmart – $20 for the rug, $0.97 each for Hot Wheels cars, or $4.47 for a pack of five.

We love Hot Wheels in my house. ^_^

Depends on how advanced he is, Little Tikes makes a 2 in 1 skooter/skateboard. My daughter has used it since 2 and loved it however when she was that young I needed to be with her constantly I would also recommend the helment and pads for the shins and arms.

I hear the groans coming, but I’m a huge fan of books. Get them reading young. Whatever they like, there’s a book out there with that in it.

Duplo blocks. Also, my grandson who is three has played with his Thomas the Tank Engine trains since he was about 18 months old.

Goodnight Moon is a great book for a 2 yeard old.

Ikea has a great toy section.

A ride on toy was what my daughter loved when she was that age.

Also, Melissa and Doug makes great wooden toys for kids of all ages.

Does he have a tree with suitable branches in his garden?
Get him a swing!

Blocks, dinosaurs, and books are all great. If you are friendly enough with the parents of this kid, you could not go wrong with collecting a bunch of things from your recycle bin, mix it with things you have around the house, and give him a creative craft kit. My kids loved doing this stuff when they were young (still do). Paper towel rolls, buttons, cups, different types of paper and cardboard, markers, stickers, etc.

I don’t think my sons at two liked anything better than things with wheels: riding toy Bucky the Wonder Horse and the classic ‘corn popper’ and similar items. Noisemaking was a definite bonus.

@Jeruba We had Bucky the Wonder Horse too and always laughed because he was “the only horse that bucks, whinnies and has a secret compartment.”
