Any suggestions for a good UV/black light?

Asked by Nullo (22028points) September 19th, 2012

Some of you may recall that I want a glow-in-the-dark bathroom. I’ve decided that the paint is far too expensive to use on walls, but I figured, hey, these are white walls. Stick a blacklight in there and it’s nearly the same thing.
I have heard good and bad things about screw-in black lights, that some of them are legit while others are simply purple. I’m also game for any kind of freestanding black light, if there is such an animal. Might even be preferable, so I can move it around.

Something that won’t give me sunburns would be especially good, though it would settle any vitamin D issues.

Just one thing – blacklight tends to make, er, protein stains show up. Bathroom not exactly the place to be proclaiming where someone marked their territory, if y’know what I mean.

@Seek_Kolinahr Hmm. Good point. Thought that might improve bathroom-cleaning quality…
