Speed of Sound by Coldplay
Clocks by Coldplay
Don’t cry by Guns N Roses
Best in me by Blue (haha yeah)
And a lot of classical music…

The Goo Goo Dolls’ “Iris” reminds me of my father, as does Everclear’s “Father of Mine”. The first was one of his favourite songs, and the other… well… explains why the first would make me sad when I hear it.
Wish You Were Here, Pink Floyd (arguably the best song of all time imo)
@Pinklady And what have you got to be sad about mylady? Is that you in your profile pic? Cuz I see a gorgeous young lady with plenty of reasons to be happy :).
The Living Years (Mike and the Mechanics). It was popular the year after my father died, and although it brought many tears, it also helped me heal.
I have two that bother me. “When September Ends” is hard because it was popular when my husband died.
“Sherrie Baby” because it was playing on the radio when I witnessed a little boy get struck and killed by a car when I was a child. For decades, I would get physically ill whenever I heard it.
This song has always stirred emotion in me. Makes me cry sometimes… I really don’t know why it gets me so much. lol
“Hurt” by Johnny Cash always tugs at my heartstrings. Especially it being his last song and all, cover or not.
Anything by Celine Dion, i’m only sad because I would like to strangle the bitch, but that’s okay, tis but a brief moment in time.
I am a Rock – Simon and Garfunkel
Helpless – Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young
Behind Blue Eyes – The Who (not Limp Bizkit)
Read My Mind – The Killers
Oh Brittania – Ian Hunter
The Scientist – Coldplay
Chasing Cars – Snow Patrol
@Pinklady I also feel sad when hearing Green Eyes, Coldplay, and Black Fades to Blue, Alice in Chains. Your Decision is also nice.
These days I can cry at about anything.
My anthem nowadays just makes me cry because it is like it is written for me.
But #1 is a special song that was picked out by my 13yo daughter at the time she dedicated it to her father at his funeral. I can barely listen to it now.
Okkervil river- a stone
Otis redding- a change is gonna come
Bon Iver- skinny love
Neutral milk hotel-two headed boy
Yuna- I miss you (incubus cover)
Cat power-fool
Immortal technique-you never know
Honestly, I could make this a real lengthy list
“Hurt” by Jonny Cash. Say what you will about him, that man was the real deal.
Tears in heaven and Goodbye Norma Jean.
This one—
I’ve always been taught that a man never cries,
But it’s hard to express my sorrow
When someone so young and so beautiful dies,
And will never be back for tomorrow.
She left us one day in the early spring,
When life was beginning anew.
My memories of her are still with me today,
Her life will never be through.
My memories of her are still with me today,
Her life will never be through.
This was played at the funeral of a young friend of mine back in the early eighties. She passed in an auto accident at age 15. Unfortunately, I have lost contact with her parents who were also close friends.
I notice that many of you enjoy sad songs. I hate them, because I hate being sad. I turn the music off because I can’t stand it.
@SuperMouse Chasing Cars gets me, too.
OK I had to give one more response cuz i just found the most saddest song ever, get a Kleenex
