Can I trade my car for a motorcycle?
Can I turn in my car to buy a motorcycle? Know any bike dealers who do this?

You certainly can, if you car is in good state you can probably get a motorbike and some cash.
I don’t know any dealers (outside the island of Mallorca), but the back of news papers here have offers for trades all the time. I’d check craigslist and news papers.
Note: you can have a motorbike at age 16 here, but can’t have a car until you are 18. because of this lots of 18 year olds have bikes they would gladly trade for cars. This may not be the case in your area.
You probably could find someone willing to do it.
But it hardly seems responsible.
I love my scooter, better gas mileage than the car, easier to find a parking place, can park on the pavement if there are no spaces, easier to get around in traffic. It’s all true, but it sucks on cold rainy days. The ideal solution is to have both!
It depends on what your car is worth. Mine is an old beater, so I could barely trade it for a case of beer, but something newer and nicer than an abused ‘85 Corolla might be worth a bike to somebody. If you go to a dealer, you will likely get a worse deal since they would like to make some profit, but there may be a private seller looking to trade a bike for a car; check Craigslist.
@AshLeigh You can be just as stupid with four wheels as with two. If you don’t need the passenger/cargo space, and you live somewhere with decent weather (or if you are looking to trade an extra car because you have more than one) then going with something that gets you around and has double the MPG rating seems like a good idea to me.
@jerv coming from someone living in Alaska, it doesn’t seem practical. However, I admit to being biased.
@AshLeigh I come from New England where they are only practical for about half of the year, so I know what you are saying.
