After watching two Walking Dead seasons, which characters would you prefer not to be dead?

Asked by mazingerz88 (29220points) October 4th, 2012

And what do you think that says about your personality, your character?

One of the best tricks a dramatic series, in this case, a dramatic horror series does to compel audience to follow, is manipulating them into caring about the characters. That is how the series Lost made a fan out of me.

With Walking Dead, there are a few characters I wouldn’t want to see killed. Glenn and his girlfriend. And Daryl. What does that say about me? I’m still trying to figure that one out.

The episode in which Rick kills a reanimated Sophia is one of the most powerful scenes I’ve ever witnessed on television.

I would prefer that Sophia not be dead but I wouldn’t change it because I would not be robbed of the memory of her second death.

i’m afraid to ask what that might say about me.

Definitely Daryl. He has such heart. He is tough, brave, skilled, intelligent, honorable and genuine. If there is ever a zombie apocalypse, I want Daryl in my corner.

I have no idea what this says about my personality. I like real people (in a series about zombies…)? I do love courageous people who never give up. That’s Daryl.

Are you guys aware that this show is based on a comic book?

The tv version has been pretty faithful to the comic, but there have been some differences. For example in the comic, Sophia is still alive, after 102 issues (season 2 is the rough equivalent of the comic up through issue 25 or so).

Since I know so much of the story to come I won’t publicly state who I want to live, since I know who dies (again, according to the comic).

Yes, we’re aware. However, they’ve changed a lot. Daryl isn’t even in the comics.

I’m still drooling about you @redfeather having them film outside your coffee shop. I haven’t read the comics @FutureMemory but I do know the program is based on them.

@Bellatrix It’s a very good comic, easily the best zombie comic I’ve ever read. Scratch that, easily one of the best comics I’ve read, period.

@Bellatrix I flirt with Norman Reedus on the regular! Also got to go to one of their barbecues for a mid season film party

Count me in for Daryl.

@redfeather I see. You flirted with Daryl. Now I want him dead. Ha ha ha! Seriously, lucky you. I would have asked Glenn and Maggie to make out in front of me. : )

@mazingerz88 well I’m not a perv so when I saw Glen I just made his drink and when I saw Maggie we chatted politely :P

Based upon this question and another, I watched the first two seasons of The Walking Dead this week. It’s good to hear that there will be a third season.

I hope Carl survives. Why? The child is still in developmental stages of personality-building being influenced by his current lifestyle. He has his parents who provide some guidance from the past civil lifestyle, while adapting to the changes that need to take place due to present circumstances. This could develop great leadership skills for one that may grow up to think and act like a great leader.

What does that say about me? No clue. All I can tell you is that I am fairly adaptable to lifestyle changes and look for ways to seek a better future. Not just for me, but for all of us. I see that potential in Carl’s character.
