Saliva Test (swab drug test) How long can I not eat/drink/smoke before test?

I have no idea how long it takes for salvia to leave your system, but as far as the job is concerned, I think the whole point is that they don’t want you to be taking/smoking/shooting any drugs/substances/supplements/recreational drugs. The point is not to dodge the test. Maybe this isn’t the right job for you.

I think the OP means “saliva” and not the intoxicant salvia.

If it’s a job that involves any kind of heavy equipment, I’d say you should start quitting whatever your habit is. We had a guy who would come into work stoned now and then; I thank God that he wasn’t usually driving the four-ton forklifts.

No I’m not doing any drugs. Lol. I am asking how long before the swab test aka spit
test, Should I stop eating food,drinking water or pop, Or smoking normal cigarettes. I have never done drugs in my whole life. Wow. I just want to know how many hours do I have to go without food water and cigarettes before the test.

@trypaw Oh! Sorry. There was a guy on here not so long ago wondering about how to cheat his drug test.

Google turned up instructions not to eat or drink for 30 minutes before the test, and avoid anything with poppy seeds for a day or so prior. I would hope that your employer gave you some instructions. Sadly, searches for drug test instructions produce a few pages explaining why they test, and the rest about how to cheat the test.

@trypaw My mistake too, so sorry. I also read the other Q about the fellow trying to dodge his drug test. Not sure if regular cigarette smoking would even be a problem. I don’t think it’s illegal to smoke cigarettes, so hopefully that wouldn’t be a problem.

@Kardamom haha its ok! :) I just didn’t know if the cigarettes would dry out my mouth and then they wouldn’t be able to do the test, but I decided I wont smoke anyway before hand just in case. Thank-you!

@Kardamom, it DID say “salvia” at the time of your response. You read it correctly. I just drew on context clues for a different conclusion.

I didn’t eat or drink for three days because of depression I took an oxycotin 5 days prior to mouth swab will this show up
