Campground or a particular area.
Thanks!

Check with the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce. Don’t try to just pick a place that looks good to you. Alligators are easy to find in wilder areas not far from the city. There are also camping guides on line.
Bayou Segnette State Park is the closest state park I could find. There’s also a KOA in town, but I hated the private facilities. I don’t remember if this is where I camped back in 1986 or not, but that was the most miserable night of my life. I learned a big life lesson. Never, never, never go to New Orleans in August, unless you can stay in air conditioning.
