Is there an open-source program that will let me manage the content on my Sansa e250R mp3 player?

The one that came with it is not only buggy and prone to crashing, I have lost the login information. At this point I am disinclined to dig it up again – this is my device and I should be able to manage it how I want to, without logging into some precious music store that I never shop at.

Windows Media Player will sync playlists to the device, but won’t let me add or remove content therein without wiping and reloading everything.

You mean to say that the e250R is that different from my e240 and e280v2?

While I have never had the issues you are having with my Sansas, I can’t help bu tthink that you may be better off wiping your player and installing Rockbox and expanding the fuck out of it’s capabilities. Not only will it free you from Rhapsody, allow you to manage your media easily, and give the UI a makeover (of your choice!), you can even play the classic Doom on your Sansa!

Seriously, rock your box with Rockbox.

@jerv It’s a collaborative thingie with the Rhapsody music store. Probably where the bugs crept in.

+1 for Rockbox, it’s awesome. It is, however, a bit unintuitive to use at first. Luckily, the documentation is excellent, but use it! :)

(Also, it allows you to just drag and drop files to the device like you do with USB flash drives.)
