An online portfolio or a printed portfolio?
p.s. Your links are broken.
If it’s online, I’d say create a website. Just use a simple web gallery with captions on your projects.
Also, are you on a Mac or a PC?
If you’re on a Mac, every Mac comes with iLife. Use iWeb to create a photo gallery of your work. ;)
well its a printed portfolio
oh darn i cant get them to work
but its a portfolio for my work that i have done in class using cs3
i have a mac btw
8 1/2×11
run the images as large as possible
let the images speak for themselves, don’t get too arty with the layout
Run a small bit of text explaining the project & your solution
Print high-quality & get it bound at Kinko’s
well im going to be printing and binding myself.. i bought this thin glossy double sided paper.. and it prints real nice.. im going to be binding it myself.. i found some website that helps u with binding and stuff like that.. i agree im not going to make it all exaggerated with a bunch of background.. i was looking at the samples he had and i got very intimidated they were sooooo good… i hope it comes out nice.
If your work is good, that’s all you need IMO.
in my opinion (IMO)
I agree. Let the images speak for themselves. Ask people to critique it BEFORE you bind it.
ok thanks.. yeah im going to do that
maybe ill post it and see what you guys think
:)
FIND THE RING PLEASE!!!!!! How can you be so careless…...
Speaking of One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them…
Be mindful of how you bind your work. I find spiral binding to look cheep and unprofessional, and you may find that you want to swap out pieces in your portfolio depending on the client or as your work progresses and evolves. I prefer to use sleeves in a hardbound cover, that way the work looks solid, but can remain flexible.
Binding is always a challenge. Plastic sleeves can look cheap. Velobinding is decent-looking but spreads can’t be laid flat. Comb binding is awful-looking. Spiral can look ok sometimes. Homemade binding can look amateurish if not done well. I haven’t found a perfect solution, obviously…
You could do it like a sketchbook and affix the prints to a hardcover book that you purchase. Or try this
The Apple Store was running a sale on books created from iPhoto images…have you thought of that?
did i mention its due on monday :)
so yeah im going to binding it this weekend… but thanks for all the helping site.. ill save them for suture references
You’re suturing or Japanese side-stitching?
stitching.. i find it easier. and there were some sample that were like that so i like how it looks.
@shockvalue…... Made me laugh once again. LOL..
She lost the ring I gave her.
