Who is the last person who motivated you?
I don’t mean like a little pat on the back or something. But getting you going. You get a rush from that person to push a bit harder and keep going, even when you are down, out and tired.

A professor I had for a class last spring….
Several times since then, I have had doubts about pursuing my major…doubts that are ridiculous most of the time, because I am really proficient in my area of study. Unfortunately, I am plagued by periodic bouts of self-doubt, at which times I become certain (temporarily) that I will not succeed. Thanks to many times when he has encouraged me (some of which I have in saved emails) I am able to pull myself through these cycles…
My last department manager at Asda.
I started in his department, left his department and then he ended up being my department manager again. I think as a two-man team we worked really hard, and it wasn’t self-motivation it was more keeping pace, but it was one time when I actually enjoyed working with and for the guy. Failing that, he was a pain in the ass, and I think we spent more time annoying each other out of habit after a while than actually doing anything to further the company’s gains!
On a small scale, a new friend and I have become gym buddies. I had lost my drive and was going less than once a week. Now I have a commitment to meet him there 3 times a week. I’m sore, but it’s good for me.
Big picture. I can’t say I’ve ever been down and out and unable to rise on my own.
My daughter. Every time I’m upset, she puts things into proportion for me, I hope I do the same for her, but I don’t know that.
Motivational speaking powerhouse Matt Foley.
One of my former bosses. I could never stick a job longer than a year. Plus this job was hard, difficult in content, and grueling. I stayed eight years. He motivated me to do things I would never dream of, I will never forget him.
@Shippy Mind me asking what it was?
I absolutely enjoyed reading interviews with Asia Argento. She motivated me a lot with her very special life approach and world view.
@CuriousLoner I headed up a team of financial brokers. The industry is tough, in terms of competitor and also learning. Legislation and products changed monthly. I am not even a financial type, so he really was an inspiration to me.
