With Thanksgiving being right around the corner, I thought it would be nice if we talked about/mentioned what we are most thankful for this year.

What are you most thankful for, this time of year? I am most thankful for my children and that we are all healthy. I am thankful for my family and close friends. I am thankful that I am able to make due on my own, after being divorced. I am also thankful for finding Fluther.com! What a great group of people you all are!

I’m thankful for my family, my friends, our health, and one heck of a special lady in my life.
My fluther buddies too. You guys are amazing.
I am also thankful for fluther and some of those who shall remain nameless. ;)
I’m thankful for my mom, and my beautiful daughter.
I’m thankful for life.
I’m also thankful that I got to experience the life of someone I will always hold close to my heart, I’m thankful for the memories we shared that can never be taken from me and I’m thankful that he’s my angel now.
Great Q :-) I’m thankful for my wonderful mother, and my close friends. I’m thankful for being able to immerse myself in my passion. I too am thankful for life.
This is a GQ.
I’m thankful for everything. Aches and pains as well as joys and ecstasies. Good food, and shit, too. (Literally.) People I love and even people I can’t stand, so that it’s always easy to see the difference. I’m thankful for being occasionally sad as well as normally happy, because each one leavens the other. I’m always thankful for people who help me sometimes, and for being almost alwasys able to help others once in awhile.
Yin, and yang, too. I’m thankful for all of it.
I am thankful for the amazing last decade of my life with all the challenges, changes & joys that lead us towards growth. I am thankful for my amazing daughter and her great boyfriend, we form a helluva quick witted and funny improv. trio. One night with them is more fun than most of the people I spend time with in a year.
I am thankful for my cozy home, my much loved pets, the beautiful area I live in and the peace of mind it affords.
Last but least, I am thankful for right now.
4:50 p.m. and am going to catch the sunset on this cold evening in the boiling hot tub after enjoying a massage a few hours ago
A Friday Happy Brownie ending for me! haha
I am thankful for my husband. I met him at a time of crisis in my life, and if I’m honest, I will admit that I would have clung on to anyone at that time. Somehow, at that time, the perfect person for me came along. I really feel like I have a true Cinderella story and if 20+ years of marriage and still crazy in love isn’t happily ever after I don’t know what is.
I have been very blessed with a wonderful wife, a good job, a stable home, loving children, and a government I can be proud of.
I have a wonderful house that I hope to be able to live in one day. I have a great guacamole recipe, and a full tank of gas.
and I love Fluther.
- I am so thankful my husband is employed (after over 2 years of unemployment) at last.
– I am thankful that our children are all pretty healthy; and that we have (good) insurance to make sure they have have the glasses, medicines and therapies they need.
– I am grateful every day for my job. Not only for the income (which has been the difference between us being homeless or not these past few years) but also because it’s probably the best job I’ve ever had and I really enjoy it.
– I am thankful for my wonderful family. Even when the kids are a bit annoying or my husband is on my last nerve… I still know how truly fortunate I am to have these wonderful people to live with, love and care for.

Why can’t you live in it now?
My friends without whom I could not get by….
My new marriage and my soon to be baby :)
I am thankful for Fluther, and that so many above have great things to be thankful for. I’m thankful for how the stories above warm my heart.
I am thankful that the hurricane and the nor’easter both failed to destroy our house or even shut our power off. My heart goes out to all those who fared worse in it.
I am thankful for my long-suffering wife; my children and my grandchildren who are doing great; and my loving cat, Spoony.
I am thankful for having my own business so I am not threatened with forced retirement; plenty of clients so I can see a revenue stream ahead of us; and at my age, the presence of mind to carry on in a technical pursuit such as Web development.
Not living in the US, I don’t celebrate Thanksgiving of course but this year I am most thankful that I got to see my daughter married, at my home and right outside my bedroom window, it couldn’t have been a more perfect day.
I’m thankful for the results of this year’s General election, especially the passage of CA Proposition 30.
This means that individuals earning $250,000+ and married couples earning $500,000+ per year, will be paying slightly higher state income taxes. The consequent increase in revenue will be used to fund education. My wife is a retired teacher, so because of this, her retiree pension will most likely be untouched. :-)
I am thankful for who ever thought of taking peanut butter, jelly and putting it inbetween two slices of bread. Its….genius.
I am thankful that I can hog down turkey, ham and gravy that I won’t get again because this will be my last thanksgiving as I am leaving America. I am thankful that I read ‘Black Elk Speaks” knowing nothing of Indian history. I am thankful that I am in a warm room and not outside.
I’m thankful to be rounding the corner of 90 days at my first job in five years, and finally not having to worry where the rent money is coming from.
I’m pushing for the goal of no longer qualifying for public aid. One more raise should do it! Honestly, I’m kind of glad to still have the $80 a month in food as a safety net while we get caught up on tons of back bills.
Health insurance will kick in for me then, too! And first of the year I can get the family on as well. That will be a whole new world for my husband, who has asthma and hasn’t had insurance since he was a kid. For me – getting some serious health problems taken care of will be great.
I’m thankful for my beautiful little boy, who tells me stories every night and kisses my necklace so I can bring the kisses to work with me.
^^^ Awwww….can I be a surrogate nana? :-)
So, so thankful to my parents for being such ridiculously good parents. I can feel their support even 500 miles away.
Thankful for the skill of my surgeon, and the years of hard work that went into developing that skill.
Thankful to my boyfriend for taking me on and all the challenges that come with me that no 20 year old guy is expecting to need to deal with.
Today, I am very thankful for the beautiful weather here. The sun is shining, birds are chirping and the temp. is cool, but enjoyable!
Has anyone helped volunteer on Thanksgiving for the homeless? I am seriously considering helping this year with my 2 boys. I am thankful for all that I have and want to share some of it with the homeless. I want my children to learn to be thankful for what we have and the importance of helping others.
@Brian1946 I bought a retirement home about 225 miles from where I currently live and work. We go there about once a month, but won’t be able to live there full time for a few years.
