I love the taste of stuffed grape leaves/ dolmas – but in particular I really love the leaves more than the rice. I’m wondering if there is anything else tasty to make with the leaves – can you sautee them like spinach or kale? I found a few recipes online for casseroles but am wondering if anyone here has ever actually tried grape leaves in anything but a dolma recipe. Do they have good nutritional value like other green leafy vegetables do? Thanks!

If it’s the taste you like, try chopping them up and using them like you would any other green leafy veggie. Instead of spinach in an omelette, mixed with or instead of your favorite kale or collard green recipe. How about an addition to salad? Sounds interesting, actually. Maybe I will try.
@XOIIO (This is off the subject, sorry OP) To shorten the URL, did you try TinyULR ?
So far I haven’t been able to find any other uses for grape leaves except in dolmas, or ethnic equivalents of dolmas, but if you like them and don’t want to make dolmas, you can Make Your Own Pickled Grape Leaves and just eat them like that.
Actually, here is something that’s a little bit different Whole Fish Grilled in Grape Leaves
I also found this decadent appetizer Grape Leaf Wrapped Camembert with Pesto
And here’s an interesting take on Greek domades, Vietnamese Grilled Beef in Grape Leaves
And here’s one that sounds very tempting, Quinoa Stuffed Grape Leaves
This next recipe is described as being vegetarian, but it definitey is not, but that’s OK. It just sounded good Crab Stuffed Grape Leaves
So far, this one sounds like it might be my favorite, Goat Cheese Stuffed Grape Leaves with Olives, Raisins and Mint
OK, I was wrong, this one seems to be my favorite. Grape Leaves Stuffed with Goat Cheese, Herbs and Honey
Either way, I’m in grape leaf heaven : )
@2davidc8 Oh yeah, that didn’t occur to me lol
It’s an Arabic dish called wara’ dawali, you have so many way to make it. A family friend Made the dish for my family, she’s Lebanese and she added black Arabic coffee to it! Needless to say it was delicious.
