Have you followed the series? If not, you can read about it here.
Excerpt: “Trapped in the Closet” is a series of songs by American contemporary R&B singer R. Kelly. The song set consists of 23 whole chapters, which were released from 2005 to 2012. The first five chapters of the set are included on his seventh studio album TP.3 Reloaded, with the first chapter being released as the first single from the album. Written and produced by Kelly, the series tells a story of a one-night stand that sets off a chain of events, which gradually reveals a greater web of lies, sex, and deceit. Musically, all chapters of the song feature the same melodic theme with varying lyrics, relating an ongoing narrative.
Or perhaps you heard Weird Al’s parody Trapped in the Drive Thru.
I heard R. Kelly is working on a version for Broadway.
The new videos get released on Friday… will you watch?? What do you think about the series? The possible broadway show?

Frankly, I’m amazed that they can be parodied – TITC is really fucking out there in the first place.
The only “Trapped in the Closet” I watch is this one.
Thanks for the link @SavoirFaire. My son told me about it, but I haven’t seen it.
Hell yeah! I love everything about Trapped in the Closet, especially the bare fact that it exists. It’s like Dwight says in The Office, gazing over miles of garbage: no other animal on earth could create this. Makes me proud to be human, that we can make and love en masse something as ridiculous as TITC.
I have only seen the Mad TV parodies a long time ago. When it comes to R. Kelly, I can’t really think about anything but his song “Pregnant”....girl you make me wanna get you pregnant (pregnant) (knock you up!) (knock you up!) everyone should listen to it it is breathtaking.
I didn’t know he was still doing that! I left off on a cliffy, a long time ago and completely forgot about it!
I will definitely be watching them over again, I’m dying to see what happens. :)
Why bother, Weird Al already got it covered.
Gods bless Weird Al.
I didn’t even know that Trapped in the Closet was ongoing… I heard what I thought was the whole song, about twenty minutes, one horrible night in the early-mid 2000’s… It was absolutely like a trainwreck. I just couldn’t turn the radio off.
It’ll be good for a laugh.
I freaking loved that series. “He came out the closet! He came out the closet!”
@cheebdragon : Oh man, I forgot about that one! I just about lost my shit when I saw that episode…
@deni Don’t even try to bring up R Kelly in my house without an underhanded golden shower reference!
