Do you ever wonder what happens to the brain in a Coma?

It sounds like researchers are beginning to unravel the mystery. They are also trying to comprehend what consciousness is. Do you think they can in our lifetime?

We all have different lifetimes. Probably not in mine; possibly in my 2 year old niece’s.

Because the brain is so little understood, I don’t think new findings will ever end. I would imagine too that each coma is different, depending on the circumstances. It is difficult to measure brain activity, since the basis of brain function is electrochemical. So any activity could be base not cognitive for example.
