you mean portrait or landscape? I use mine both ways equally. I use the landscape for the online typing kinds stuff and portrait for offline stuff. I suggest you ask this question as soon as Apple makes landscape mode universal to all areas of iPhone use. You’ll get more (for lack of a better term) responses, from people.
I also use it both ways. When I’m looking at websites its always landscape.
I use it landscape (horizontally) whenever possible since the type is larger therefore easier to read i.e. when online.
I so wish we had the option of using it landscape when email, text messaging. Even after almost a year, I still find it a challenge to type on the tiny keyboard displayed during portrait (vertical) use.
Maybe this will get updated next week….
As my eyes get old I use it mostly in landscape online. Otherwise I need to wear my reading glasses.
@mcbealer: yeah, I agree. The characters are larger and easier to type on even though I have adjusted and adapted quite well to the potrait keyboard. The landscape mode is just much more comfortable when it comes to typing. Sidekick manufacturers were pretty smart….
Lol I’m trying to type in landscape and I miss the letters, LOL, never used it to type this way, but its getting easier.. Yep, Its good!
@ dingus108 ~ yes, I went from a Sidekick II to an iPhone, and the first month was pretty rough having no buttons to push down and a much smaller keyboard to boot.
To this day, I don’t what I’d do without the intelligent keyboard feature! It really does predict words.
I use mine in portrait for everything except watching videos on youtube or bbc iplayer :) Oh, and for playing with the coverflow swishy thing in the iPod section!
@ myssa ~ how can I watch the bbc iplayer?
Mcbealer – go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/ and navigate to whatever program you want to watch, zoom in a bit so you can see the play button when it appears (sometimes slow to appear), and off you go!
They’ve written a special iPhone player, so when you click the little blue play arrow that appears, it automatically spins the display and sets it to fullscreen on the phone.
@ myssa ~ it won’t stream outside of the UK and I’m in the States, but thanks anyhow
