Relationships seem to be the champ.
Yup – Why does he like me? Does he like me? Why doesn’t he like me any more?
Religion and politics sometimes give relationships a run for its money. And then there’s always mayonnaise.
Welcome to Fluther!
Mayonnaise?
I have relationships. But there don’t seem to be a lot of questions. How many questions can I expect in my just for your feed?
The amount of questions waxes and wanes and we are in a bit of a lull at the moment. But if you add more topics and answer more questions, you will get more “Just for you” questions. Also, you can check the General, Social and Meta sections to see all the questions.
The “mayonnaise” question was about whether to throw out a bottle left out and generated a lot of response. There are a lot of jokes and self-referential references on Fluther, just ask if you don’t get something and someone will explain.
We are happy to have new members!
Some day, perhaps I, too, will be a self-referential reference!
You would be referring to in-jokes, I think.
Yes, but I thought it sounded too clicky to say “in-jokes.”
I see. I find self-referential references to be more cliquey, but what do I know? Now I really am looking forward to becoming a self-referential reference. Somewhere in the desert. Should I live so long.
I think you’re well on your way; you fit right in here!
LOL. Ain’t that the way it always is?
Political questions seem to ebb and flow with the season; religious, morality, and scientific questions all seem to generate lively conversation.
Quirky questions such as pancakes v popcorn seem to have the longest life and the most infamy.
welcome to fltuher

Welcome to fluther
And @Symbeline might be willing to bury you in the desert with enough flair to achieve status, but its not the only way.
I am really more interested in the topics that will get me the most questions on my list. This is not about status. And I would not look forward to being buried up to my head in the desert and honey poured over my head. Particularly in the Southwest. Might I note that some movies are better left unseen.
Any question that has to do with your favorite food always gets a lot of traffic.
Also, any question that starts off with If a guys says X, what does it mean?
I don’t know what I’m saying wrong. I want to know what topics to add to my list so I get the most questions. I’m not asking how to get traffic for a question. I’m asking how to get questions to appear on my list. I’m not going to have to go and select all the topics, I hope.
The more you participate, the more “questions for you” you’ll get, regardless of your topic choices (although that helps, too). We have a ‘learning algorithm’, so as we get to know you better, we’ll send relevant questions your way. In the meantime, just browse the General, Social, and Meta sections and choose whatever interests you. Welcome aboard!
The first way to get topics sent to you is to individually add topics to your profile. Whenever a question is asked that has one of those topics, it is sent to your “Questions for You” box.
The easiest way to attract questions for your “Question for You” is to simply answer questions. When you answer multiple questions with similar topics, Fluther’s computer system will slowly begin to automatically send you questions with similar topics to the ones that you have answered.
I get almost all the asked questions now because I have answered such a wide variety. But as I and others have said, just browse all the categories and answer if you are not getting enough “Just for you” questions.
Becoming a full-fledged Jelly takes time and commitment! :-)
Interesting. I never thought I’d have to earn the right to get questions. But I have added a number of topics. Now I see that doesn’t matter so much as answering questions. I guess it doesn’t help to be greedy for questions here. They will show up in their own sweet time. It’s not like other places I’ve been where you get inundated with questions. But the people seem very friendly here. That’s nice. I like it here.
@burntbonez Pull up a chair – stay awhile. We lurves you.
Just start clicking on questions that interest you, or even if they don’t. They don’t have to show up in your “questions for you” to join in.
Welcome to Fluther.
@rosehips Pancakes vs. popcorn? Whoa, no contest.
@burntbonez It’s good to have your own tastes but Fluther seems to lean towards Pancakes. :-) Enjoy.
So fluther isn’t perfect, after all? Still, a minor oversight in the scheme of things.
^That’s the one I was looking for!
“What does it mean if you dream about someone you like?”
and “How should I act around my crush?”
are likely my two least favorite recurring questions…
Suck it up and go be a teenager in the real world like the rest of us had to!
Relationships, politics/current events, cooking, and maybe tech stuff.
Love/relationships, dreams, frizzers, pancakes, babbys, recipes, NSFW, and my all-time personal favorite: duck porn.
Oh, damn. That last one isn’t actually very popular. You all need to remedy that right away!
@bookish1 I’m only joking about babbys, but it does get a mention from time to time. As for the duck porn, I was also just being silly with that. There was a question a while back that prompted me to sarcastically add “duck porn” as a topic on my page. I can’t seem to find it now. :D
If you look at the right side of and about half-way down (just below the Community Feed) the following page, you’ll see a list of what Fluther has determined are the popular topics: http://www.fluther.com/#browse
According to the embedded tag info, the relationships topic is the most popular with 5,841 questions.
@chyna LMAO! I’d forgotten about that.
@glacial You could be right, haha!
Religion and politics has to be near the top. I get involved with those types of questions myself, because they have a drastic impact on how we live. It angers me when people say they are sick and tired of hearing about religion and politics, because if you don’t like a question then don’t respond to it and answer questions about other topics here, as they’re plentiful on fluther too. Some people however prefer to troll and not offer anything productive to the thread, except to insult the person asking the question.
