I’m shocked that the Grammy’s actually chose artistically inclined musicians such as The Black Keys, Frank Ocean, Jack White, Fun, and Mumford & Sons. What are your thoughts?

Those are all pretty poppy to me. High end pop, but still pop. It’s about what I expect.
What’s wrong with pop music? And Jack White, and The Black Keys aren’t pop.
Nothing “wrong” with it in this discussion. Just that the more popular it is, the more likely it will be nominated. And with today’s world being so socially influenced these days I expect more diversity in the kinds of bands that make it to the award level. Album Sales volume seems to be losing it’s monopoly on award nominations.
I find most of Mumford and Sons music to sound repetitive. I really like Little Lion Man, but the rest of the stuff they do leaves me cold.
That’s a list of talented musicians (except I’m really not that familiar with Fun). It’s nice to see this and not Justin Bieber on the list. I consider Jack White to be one of the best musicians of my generation. He’s a gift to music lovers.
I’m kind of surprised that I have no idea who any of those people are.

Even Jack White of the White Stripes?
I say that because I have some White Stripes music and my pop culture knowledge is mostly a few decades behind the times.
