Great comedy scenes for a trio?

Asked by shniernan (986points) December 6th, 2012

This is mainly for theater class, but it doesn’t have to be theatrical, and is preferred to not be dramatic. I’m just looking for a scene, any scene, from youtube, movies, short films, scripts, really anything that can be adapted to a stage, that’s fairly long. The more the merrier!

This is for 2 guys, and 1 girl, with the largest emphasis on comedy. If you have any ideas on skits or videos you’ve seen that would work well, please tell me!

Any/all help is appreciated! Fluther on, jellies.

The only one I know is the famous Who’s On First. Maybe with a little creativity, you can change it so three people can do it.

There might be some scenes from Some Like It Hot (starring Marilyn Monroe, Jack Lemmon, and Tony Curtis) that you’d like.

Another one is a skit from Saturday Night Live titled The Thing That Wouldn’t Leave, with Jane Curtin, John Belushi, and Bill Murray: http://vimeo.com/46907376

I second the Marx Brothers. Check out Duck Soup.

Brian1946 stole my suggestion of “Some LIke it Hot.” (Don’t forget Joe E. Brown in that movie. He got the last line and one of the best laughs of all time.)

The suggestions so far all have roots in a previous era, with some links to vaudeville. Maybe, instead of one long scene, you could do a few sketches. If I remember correctly, the movie The Night They Raided Minsky’s included a few good vaudeville routines.

I’m only looking for 6+ minutes. And all of the suggestions thus far have been highly entertaining, but not exactly what I’m looking for. Modern or not, comedy is comedy.

If the responses keep coming, it won’t be long to find a good one! Thanks for the help, keep it going!

Here is something that might be good. Jack Nicholson, Greg Kinnear and Helen Hunt from the movie As Good As It Gets.
