In light of previous religious questions, may I cause a stir again by asking: Should the staunch Christians not be praying for the gunman too?

There was so much discussion in previous questions about religious beliefs and so much criticism that I was wondering, should the Great Believers not be praying for the killer’s soul?

Oh they should. They should also turn the other cheek. But ironically, they are usually the first to cry for blood and revenge.
Sigh.. oh well another Christian bashing question.
@ragingloli – now don’t you be projecting again.
But out of curiosity, if you were to ask for divine intervention on his behalf, would you be pleading for his mercy or hanging him high? Do you want him rehabilitated and moving into the house next to you?
@Shippy – you know how it is, the atheists gotta have someone to work on!
I guess, but lets word swap in the title?

I could go on, you might ask where where the previous questions to state that? There are none, I feel or think perhaps that would have been removed or flagged? Not sure. Perhaps we should try one and see how it goes.
It amazes me how many people even on Fluther, have suffered prejudice, in their history or past, or even current lives, enjoy this too.
There are certain things that happen in the world where there should be no attempt at point scoring or trolling even if you are a Black Chinese Jew or a Transgender Buddhist and what happened yesterday is one of those things.
I have been praying for him, trying to understand how tortured his heart and mind must have been to be so vicious. Praying also for his family.
Yes, and I’m sure that many are. I don’t see what’s wrong with that, and I also don’t see why this question is “Christian bashing”.
His choices were made before he died. There is no help for him once he is dead.
Of course. Why wouldn’t they? He obviously is a very messed up person.
I’m sorry but praying for this piece of shit is just…hilarious. And if any God sanctions praying for this sicko, I really hope he makes it up to those kids who were screaming in absolute terror while being mauled down by bullets, their blood spurting all over. Yeah.
From what I know about the Christian Prophet, Jesus, he would be crying for all of those involved. Compassion has no limits. It is or it isn’t.
I feel for the shooter. What happened to him to drive him to such violence. I feel for the children, the parents, the living and the dead.
This brings shame to Americans and all of humanity.
Can I be really downright, as the faithful would put it, blasphemous here-? I’m wondering whether Jesus said anything or cried about God sanctioning the death of kids and women as written in the Bible, long before his time-?
