Over the holidays I remembered a party where the host served hot or baked crab dip. I wish I had not remembered it. You mash up 8oz of cream cheese , softened , 8oz of crab with 2 chopped green onions, a third cup of mayonnaise and either some horseradish or shredded swiss cheese then bake for twenty minutes and put on crackers. Now I want to make it and , as I did before, eat the entire thing. How can I stop myself? I keep thinking about it. lol

Sounds like you are craving spice or salt. Try low fat cream cheese with cayenne pepper, maybe even your horse radish, and green onion and put on a low fat cracker.
That’s an intriguing possibility.
you can even use your crab meat, if in salt water not oil
Go ahead and make it, then send it to me. :)
I’ve heard that one surefire way to quit smoking is to buy a pack and then smoke all 20 cigarettes, one after the other, and you’ll never want to smoke again. So what if you prepared the dish and then ate it all in one sitting? Perhaps that would be enough to make you never want to touch the stuff again.
I can only speak for me, but I get on little “quests” to find that one thing that I want. And I’ll do it for like a month. One time, for some reason, it was pork chops. Another time, it was filet mignon (and it was only allowed to be Outback). But after even a couple of weeks of indulging in it, I never wanted to see it again. I haven’t eaten a pork chop in 3 years or so….
still on the Outback thing though – but this too shall pass
The Outback filet is delicious! But, my husband is obsessed with New York Strip at Texas Roadhouse, so he never wants to go to Outback anymore.
@JLeslie , Gadzooks, say it isn’t so! The Victoria Filet with the horseradish crust is the killer – gets me everytime.
And what is it with that little brown bread loaf? I think they drug it, lol.
Trade ya my giant bowl of Hersheys chocolate mint mousse candies and peppermint kisses for your crab dip. Lets just trade addictions, how ‘bout that? :-D
No, thanks @Coloma. I’m not much into candy. I am a chips and crackers kinda girl.
@Aster I’m with you, girl. I don’t have a sweet tooth, but I love greasy-salty foods. I’ve yet to meet a potato chip I haven’t liked.

@Coloma So nice to meet you, Laurie. But, I regret to tell you that you spell your name incorrectly. :-)
