British stuff and British people are, for the most part, quite wonderful. Unless you go around constantly talking in a fake British accent (occasionally is OK) or you denounce your own country, then you are not trying to BE British, you are just admiring and enjoying everything that is wonderful in the British culture. You are probably an Anglophile such as myself : )
There certainly isn’t anything wrong with Harry Potter, The Beatles, Downton Abbey, clotted cream, afternoon tea with watercress sandwiches, Charles Dickens, Patrick Stewart, Jane Austen, British flags, Prince William and Kate, British history, a ploughman’s lunch (cheese, bread, pickles and chutney) fish and chips, Yorkeshire pudding, London, All Creatures Great and Small by James Herriot, Monty Python, Davy Jones of The Monkess (R.I.P.) William Shakespeare, James MacAvoy (hottie) Alan Rickman, Kate Winslett, Emma Thompson, Julie Andrews, Anthony Hopkins, Judi Densch, the Yorkeshire Dales, Liverpool, the Lake District, Stonehenge, Magical Mystery Tours, double decker buses, Herrod’s department store, Fortnum and Mason’s, Sherlock Holmes (especially Benedict Cumberbatch, Johnny Lee Miller, and Jude Law as Dr. Watson) Maggie Smith (in HP and DA amongst other yummy stuff) not to mention Anthony Hopkins, The Rolling Stones, British pubs, Bob Hoskins, The Barchester Chronicles, Donald Pleasance, Nigel Hawthorne, David Niven, Peter Sellers, English bulldogs, English cheddar, The Crescent, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, The House of Elliot (if you like Downton Abbey, you’ll love this miniseries too). Oy! I could go on all night, but that wouldn’t be proper : )
